Bravo!!! Great job!. What a successful concert we had. Thank you all for sharing your talents with our community. Looking forward to our next concert in March 2010.
The following are the rehearsal schedules for November and December. There are a couple changes from the previous schedules because of scheduling or building conflicts. Please adjust your schedule accordingly.
Rehearsal for this week is on Saturday, October 31 2:00-4:00pm
Mrs. Wendy Chou, Mrs. Liao with the assistance of Mike West will be taking individual picture of each orchestra member after rehearsal for the next 2 weeks.
Musicians are expected to attend all rehearsals and concerts for the full duration of the season. If a musician is absent from, leaves early, or arrives late to any of these functions more than 3 times, he/she may be asked not to perform at the upcoming concert at the discretion of the conductor and the orchestra president. If a musician has a legitimate conflict (including illness), the musician shall be responsible for notifying Mr. Su at 310-377-6821 (caelmersu@yahoo.com), AND Schola Tsai at 310-544-2218 (pvroscholatsai@gmail.com) or Diana West at 310-766-1921 (loveylovey@cox.net) in advance of your absence. Unapproved absences and tardiness demonstrates a lack of commitment, a lack of consideration for your fellow musicians, and a lack of respect for your conductor.
Registration information and form for the 2009-2010 season have been e-mailed to you. Please return the signed registration form, the committee guild form and the contract of conduct and commitment on September 12 at the Registration and Welcome Social Potluck. Contact Schola at pvroscholatsai@gmail.com if you did not receive them. There will also be a snack sign up form at the registration table. We are asking each family to donate snacks or drinks, set up refreshments, and clean up afterwards for one rehearsal each season. For families who have multiple musicians in the orchestra, please sign up more than once to help. Please sign up as soon as possible. Our musicians will be very happy that you feed them.
Strings audition will be held this Friday, September 4 and next Friday, September 11. Please arrive 10 minutes early before your scheduled time to get prepared. If you are planning to audition for a solo and haven't informed me or Mr. Su yet, please do so immediately so I can put you down for it. ---Schola---
We are looking for a creative and innovative design for our Orchestra Logo. Your entry should reflect how you feel about our orchestra. The selected entry could be used in our orchestra's profile, programs, stationary, invitations, newspaper/magazine advertising or the blog. The submission deadline is September 30, 2009. Submission format: JPEG or PDF files to be delivered by email to: pvroscholatsai@gmail.com The winner of this competition will receive a $100 gift certificate, so put those thinking caps on and have fun designing a logo for our orchestra.

We are honored, excited and humbled to accept our calling as the President (Schola Tsai) and the Vice-President (Diana West) of the orchestra. There is so much to learn. Becoming familiar with each musician and learning the names of all the different musicial instruments will be our first challenge. We have always enjoyed the performances and now we have even more opportunities to listen to all of your beautiful compositions. We look forward to getting to know and work with each talented musician and parents personally.
Although it was a holiday weekend and many people were out of town, we still had over 150 Orchestra members, friends and families attend the season end social on Friday, July 3. We were treated with lots of good food and great entertainment. The event was enjoyed by all. Thank you Michelle Burwasser
